JUST DO IT!
Those three words took Nike from 18% to 43% of the North American domestic shoe market in 10 years. Three very powerful words that have not only made Nike successful but many others who have taken on those words, who have fought against resistance and done it.
I think about these three words now as I begin to write our first Made to Thrive blog for our new website. Writing a blog every day is quite a commitment. However, after much toing and froing over it I realised, I can’t help but tell others about what I have learned or read in regard to thriving – so I might as well write it down!
This is our passion: To inspire, equip and empower individuals and families to build healthy and fruitful lives. There is a lot of information out there and we desire to distil the information down into “health bites”. Thus, making it easier for you, the reader, to make positive changes in your life towards wellness and wholeness.
What is wellness you might ask?
Well, it involves giving good care to your physical self, using your mind constructively, expressing your emotions effectively and being creatively involved with those around you. It is concerned with your physical, psychological and spiritual environments and how they interact and harmonise together. It involves your passions, your priorities and your productivity. We call all these areas “The Thriving Five” – Spirit, Soul, Body, Relationships and Stewardship. We hope to share a little on each of these five areas each week.
The thing about wellness and thriving is that it is a journey rather than a destination. It is one we would like to take with you.
The “Just do it” slogan actually was inspired by the last words of Gary Gilmore before he died. “Let’s Do it”
